ReStory Endings: Every Ending and How to Reach It
ReStory's official description confirms a branching story with multiple endings that depend on your choices. Community playthroughs have now verified the core structure: after Yamato brings news that the concert is cancelled, landlord Hashimoto offers a final choice that leads to the good ending (Rock for the Ages!) or the bad ending (Globalization). Three mutually exclusive character story lines — Haruhi, Kaito and Baketsu — add missable endings of their own. This page maps every branch, marks what is verified versus what is still pending, and answers the common stuck points.

Ending & story-line overview
Two named endings are decided by one final choice with Hashimoto; three character story lines are mutually exclusive; the early Eggotchi choice unlocks Origami. Confidence tags follow every claim — see the verification note at the bottom.

How the ending is decided: the final choice
The ending is not tracked by every customer choice along the way — multiple community guides agree the decisive moment is a single final choice. The steps below are community-verified (L3, two or more sources) until confirmed in-game (L0).
-
Reach the finale
Advance the story — driven by your checklist/to-do list — until you beat the Akiba Championship record 4 times and Yamato brings news that the concert is cancelled. 〔L3·双源〕
-
Hashimoto arrives with two options
The landlord appears at your shop and offers the final choice — this single decision decides the ending. 〔L3·双源〕
-
Option 1 → good ending
Sell your shop to Takumi and donate the profits to the concert organisers — this unlocks Rock for the Ages!. 〔L3·双源〕
-
Option 2 → bad ending
Accept the new development and let the shopping center be built — this unlocks Globalization. 〔L3·双源〕
The good ending: Rock for the Ages!
-
Pick option 1 at the final choice
When Hashimoto offers the final choice, choose to sell the shop to Takumi and donate the profits to save the concert. 〔L3·双源〕
-
Watch the finale
The ending scene plays out — community guides describe it as showing the characters' growth and their stories paying off. 〔L3·双源〕
-
Achievement
Rock for the Ages! unlocks. The name is official (Steam); the exact in-game ending screen label still needs L0 verification. 〔L0 name / 待验证〕
Does finishing a character line change the good ending?
Whether completing a character story line first makes the ending screen richer is reported by community players but not yet verified at L0. Treat it as optional, not a requirement. 〔待验证〕
The bad ending: Globalization
-
Pick option 2 at the final choice
Accept the new development when Hashimoto offers the final choice; the shopping center is built. 〔L3·双源〕
-
Watch the finale
The story concludes with the mall development going ahead. 〔L3·双源〕
-
Achievement
Globalization unlocks. The name is official (Steam); the exact in-game ending screen label still needs L0 verification. 〔L0 name / 待验证〕
The bad ending is a normal ending
Globalization is one of the two named endings — not a punishment for many mistakes. It is reached simply by picking the second option at the final choice. 〔L3·双源〕
3 mutually exclusive character story lines (missable)
After the last tournament win you can invite one character to stay. The three lines are mutually exclusive — inviting one locks out the others, so plan separate runs for the missable achievements. 〔L3·双源〕
-
Invite exactly one character
Choose one of Haruhi, Kaito or Baketsu to stay after the last tournament win; community guides warn that inviting other people may prevent the line from triggering. 〔L3·双源〕
-
Haruhi → Melancholy
Invite her to stay, repair the Tourist's requests, and talk to her after her last repair — the story about the missing previous owner comes up and she leaves. 〔L3·双源〕
-
Kaito → Ronin
Invite him to stay and wait for him to find the watch and ask you to repair it. 〔L3·双源〕
-
Baketsu → Ghost in the Frame
Invite him to stay (the bucket-neighbour); he finds the watch and asks you to repair it. 〔L3·双源〕
Yui & the Eggotchi: the early Origami choice
The official Steam condition for Origami is helping a child for free; community guides describe the exact moment. 〔L0 condition + L3 details〕
-
Fix the little girl's Eggotchi
Early in the game the girl Yui brings her Eggotchi — a quest device that must be fully repaired for the story to continue (per a tinyBuild developer reply). 〔L1·官方〕
-
Refuse the delivery agent's offer
The courier Yamato offers to pay for her repair — refuse payment so the help is free. 〔L3·双源〕
-
The origami arrives later
The courier later returns with a paper crane (origami) and +10 Zen for you; the Origami achievement unlocks. 〔L3·双源〕
Branch roadmap (text version)
Story order reported by community guides. Week numbers and day counts are estimates, not verified timers.
- Day 1
Open the shop; the first fix is landlord Hashimoto's phone (Pokia). 〔L3·单源, FIRST FIX!〕
- Early
Fix the little girl's Eggotchi and refuse payment → the Origami arc. 〔L3·双源 + L0 condition〕
- Mid
Buy licenses to unlock devices; the story advances through your checklist/to-do list. 〔L0/L3〕
- Week ~3 (estimate)
The Akiba Championship app arrives by email; beat the record 4 times to finish the story. 〔L3·双源〕
- After the last tournament win
Branch: invite exactly one of Haruhi / Kaito / Baketsu to stay. Their final request is always a watch; they leave and the missable achievement pops. 〔L3·双源〕
- Finale
Yamato announces the concert is cancelled; Hashimoto appears with two options. 〔L3·双源〕
- Option 1
Good ending (Rock for the Ages!): sell the shop to Takumi, donate the profits. 〔L3·双源〕
- Option 2
Bad ending (Globalization): the shopping center is built. 〔L3·双源〕

A different “4 endings” framing exists — not confirmed
One media guide (allthings.how, updated 9 August 2026) frames ReStory as having four endings — Default, Good, Secret and Bad — decided by cumulative treatment of every customer, and describes a Secret ending with four extra scenes. This conflicts with the two-source community structure above, so we treat it as an unverified media claim, not a fact. What would confirm it: the exact names shown on in-game ending screens, or evidence of an extra ending with no achievement attached. Until then we keep the structure of two named endings plus three character lines. 〔待验证〕
Verification status
Checked 17–18 August 2026 against the Steam store page and the global achievement list (L0), a tinyBuild developer reply on Steam (L1·official), and multiple community sources (L3). The exact wording of the final choice and the character invitations is community-reported and must be confirmed in-game (L0) before button-by-button instructions can be published. Pending L0 verification: in-game ending screen labels, exact option text, invitation timing, official localized character names, the watch as the previous owner's item, a possible 4th ending, tournament record wording, and any new official announcements (E1–E8).
